Bassist for Curiously Strong

In 2004, one of my housemates played drums in a 2-person band. They needed a rhythm guitarist, and I was game to learn. Soon I transitioned to playing the bass guitar. We were primarily an instrumental trio: guitar, drums, and bass. We coined the genre “Neo-surf Blues”.

Curiously Strong’s musical influences included Surf, Blues, and Rock: Freddy King, The Ventures, Dick Dale, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, CCR, Link Wray, and ZZ Top.

We finished recording the first album at “The Basement” recording studio in Seattle. The 5 song demo was released spring of 2005. We released Riff Tide in 2007.

Throughout the years that we were all active, 2004-2008, we played many gigs at local cafes, outdoor shows, and car shows throughout Washington state.

Songs from the demo may be heard on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/curiouslystronginseattle

In addition to being one of three band members, I trained in classical vocals for 2 years. Vocal range, at that time, coloratura soprano.
